I'm Your Dating Diva

At the end of last month, while browsing through Pinterest, I came across a Diva Wanted position by The Dating Divas.   The Dating Divas are a group of talented, adorable, and fun ladies.  They share all sorts of ideas like creative dates, DIY craft tutorials, and tips on strengthening marriages.  I have been in love with these ladies for several years now.

I read through their application and was intrigued, I felt that I would be a perfect fit for their team.  Submitted my 20 some page application and patiently waited.   I made it into their top 20, which was a huge surprise.  Now it was time to see if I could tough out round two applications. I felt quite intimated knowing that now I was going up against the best.

During this application process I must have done a few things right because they picked ME!!!  I am super excited to start this new journey with The Dating Divas.

Yay For Our Winner

Long Drives

 I promise once this weekend is over and the surprise party is over I will be back on schedule! My hubby and I are on my way to AZ just passing through Vegas, marking our halfway point.


At some time in your relationship you need to take a long drive with you're spouse. There is a lot to learn about each other while stuck in a car for 13 hours together.


We have learned that I cannot drive for mo...re then an hour our two without falling to sleep. My hubby chauffeurs me around the whole ride in order to keep us alive. To make up for my lack of driving I scratch his arm, neck, rubbing his bum, and grabbing anything he wants. I like to be entertained with chatting, books, games, and music. We have read several really good books on drives (currently we are reading the hunger games for the second time just to refresh before the movie debut). My hubby has learned patience because I need to stop for a potty break almost every hour! We both like to sneak in a little bit of freaky time while on our drive to make the time pass sooner and add a little excitement to all the shrubs and mountains. I pack tons of snacks cause you never know what you want until you want it. Luckily my hubby doesn't nag about it too much anymore. I also pack like I'm going away for a month and he packs likes he's gone for only a coupe of days. I think our trips have pointed out some of our biggest differences. It also shows us how much we can adapt, be flexible, and respect each others differences. It also shows us how well we get along and how much we enjoy these long drives together. How could I not enjoy the journey when i've got the guy that fits me best!


So get yourselves in the car and enjoy the journey.

I love the neighborhood I live in. Not only are the people great but we occasionally we have deer visiting our little empty field. This is what I spotted as I turned onto my street to get home. So beautiful that I had to share!

Presidents Day...

Happy Presidents Day to Everyone! What are you doing on your day off, if you have the day off? We are stuck indoors cause my hubby is one sick boy, lucky us!!! I hope your day is better then ours!

Valentine musings...

Several days ago I had no idea what we were going to do for Valentine's. Our one goal was that we wouldn't buy each other gifts this year.  We had tossed around some ideas and thought about going to a movie, going out to eat, going to a improv theater, etc.  All of our ideas just didn't seem exciting or special.  I was finally hit with an idea...Camping out on our deck.  Ok so maybe this idea isn't as sophisticated as some of the rest but it sounded very tempting.  Luckily my hubby was sold on the idea and our plans were on!

We shopped the day before Valentine's for the our camping food and a few decor items, which was a nightmare of sorts.  The stores were super busy and the lines were extra long.  Everyone was doing their last minute shopping just like us.  One of these days I'm going to learn to plan a little earlier because procrastinating just seems to be my thing!  Has anyone ever tried to look for white stringing lights after Christmas??? If so you will understand my pain!  Next time I will look in the wedding section before shopping the home decor, crafts, and fix it isles.

On Valentine's my hubby prepared almost everything.  Set up the tent, blew up our mattress, hung the lights, cleaned off the grill, laid out the blankets, and turned on our little space heater.  I was left with stringing up the hearts, placing candles around, skewering my half of the kabobs, and preparing our banana boats.  Seriously I was impressed with all the work he did.

We started our night scarfing down our kabobs before they got cold, trying to get warm, figuring out how to set up our movie so we could comfortably watch, and pausing our movie every 5-10 minutes to check on our banana boats, which by the way turned out quite gross!  Note to self...use only ripe bananas for boats not almost ripe.  Before the night was half over I had to dare the cold and run inside for a potty break.  When I finished washing up I return to our living room to find it's all set up with the blankets, pillows, treats, and candles.   What a sneaky and clever guy I've got.

Of course we ended the night perfectly with sexy time in our bedroom!


You might think my night was a disaster.  Nothing turned out quite how we pictured in our mind.  But honestly it was one of the best nights we've had.  We enjoyed our night so much that next year we're omitting the tent outside and making our own tent inside.  It was simple, sweet, and focused on the two of us.  I love being with someone who can make my moments great, who realizes it doesn't matter what we do as long as we do it together, and who loves me beyond measure. I am lucky in love!

book worm

I used to be a major book worm. Then I slipped into reading a book or two a month. Now I'm lucky to finish a book in 3 or so months. I always read a little before going to bed, that seems to be a habit that has always stuck with me. Anyone else have that problem???

I have a "Kick Your Feet Up" reading list and a "Put Your Nose Into It" reading list. I'm on the put your nose into it reading list currently. I am scoping out a few marriage books that look appealing. So help a girl out! Inquiring minds want to know...What is your favorite Marriage help book and why???

stink pits and such...

So after I share this little tidbit you all might be thinking, "Yeah, I didn't want to hear that!" lol But I can't help myself and have to share anyway! Once upon a time I had a little rule around my home which was farting happens in the bathroom or outside or somewhere vacant. This rule worked pretty good for our first year and a half of marriage. Since then it's pretty much anything goes! Our house was a stink pit last night! So here's my daily question for you guys...Am I the only one with rules that don't stick? Or is your home a free for all? Or do you have courtesy rules that actually work?
