Doubled-Up Apple Nachos

I'm adding a new little segment to all my other segments. I love, love, love to make delicious and lovely food. I especially like mini bites or pretty desserts. So we all know that food can be sexy, right?!?! So if it's sexy, playful, romantic, and brings you together it's worth sharing with Tickled in Love.

I have a lot of food allergies so recently with the help of Pinterest I have started to find a few pretty treats that I am able to make and eat, cause most of the time I'm just making and not eating. For our Superbowl party I made a few dishes.  The one I was able to eat was Apple Nachos and it was a big hit.   Once you see the picture you are going to want to make this!

Doubled-Up Apple Nachos

3 crispy and slightly tart apples, gala or honeycrisp are yummy!
1-2 tsp lemon juice
6 tbsp creamy peanut butter
1/4 cup sliced almonds
1/4 cup pecans
1/4 cup toasted flaked sweetened or unsweetened coconut
1/4 cup dark chocolate chips

Heat your oven to 350 degrees.  Sprinkle coconut on a tin foil lined cookie sheet. Toast until lightly browned, about 10-15 minutes.  Keep your eye on it so it doesn't burn.

Slice up the apples in thin sections so they are easily eaten in a couple bites. Then spray both sides of the apples with lemon juice to keep them from browning.

Melt some of your favorite peanut butter, just until it's runny.

Arrange half of the apples on a pretty serving tray.  Drizzle with half of the peanut butter.  Then sprinkle the half of the toasted coconut, sliced almonds, chopped pecans, and the best part the chocolate chips over all the apples.  Over this first layer arrange the second half of your apples and sprinkle with the second half of all your toppings. Pick up an apple and place it in your mouth, you deserve the first apple nacho for all your hard work!

Make sure to eat these with your fingers just like real nachos.  Prepare yourself for all the praise that will come your way for this dish!

Make ahead:  Slice and lemon the apples.  Apples will stay fresh looking overnight.
